The Nehemiah Project could not exist without a team of dedicated volunteers! We would love for you to join our team. Here are some ways to get involved:

Innkeepers:
Innkeepers are the hands-on volunteer staff who spends time each day with our guests. These loving and dedicated individuals are the heart and soul of the ministry. Innkeepers serve in two shifts. Early Innkeepers are here in the evening from 5:00pm - 9:00pm and late Innkeepers serve during the overnight hours from 9:00pm - 8:00am the next morning.

There are no special requirements other than a heart to serve the Lord. This is a ministry that changes lives not only of our guests but of our Innkeepers as well. Training is provided and you will shadow a seasoned Innkeeper until you feel comfortable. “All you need to do is lend a listening ear. You don’t have to have all the answers, just be there. Make a Meal:
Do you have a gift for cooking? Do you love to serve? We have an opportunity for you!
Many thoughtful people care for our guests by cooking and delivering the evening meal at the Nehemiah House or the Mary Margaret House. Meals can be made at home and brought in or here in our kitchen at the shelter. Also, you would have access to our food pantry to use for your meal.

Other Opportunities:
As with any household, there are many projects to tackle on an ongoing basis. There is always something to clean and organize. If you are handy with tools and love to fix things we could certainly benefit from your gifts and talents.

And if you love to work outside, we have opportunities for you! Whether it's spring, summer, fall, or winter, you can be involved in areas such as: planting and tending flower gardens, lawn care, yard work and snow removal at our three houses.
