The Nehemiah Project
The Nehemiah Project takes its name from Nehemiah, a Biblical figure in the Old Testament known for his compassion and hope. His name means “The Lord has comforted.” Just as Nehemiah led the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s broken walls, the Nehemiah Project exists to walk alongside individuals as they rebuild the broken places in their own lives. We offer a safe place, compassionate support, and renewed hope for those experiencing homelessness and hardship.
Our primary service area are the eight northern Michigan counties; Emmet, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Otsego, Antrim, Mackinac, Chippewa.
We are the only year-round shelter, and the only shelter for women and children between Traverse City and Marquette.
